![]() ![]() ![]() Certification is open to trainers, manual therapist and the like. The certification process is a weekend course, followed by a 50 question online exam, multiple choice. I truly believe this is the future, or at the very least the best thing out there right now. I'm a Crossfit coach, who has trained under Ido Portal and does a ton of bodyweight work. (good English eh?)īefore anyone thinks that I must be a rep for FRC, I'm not. This is active mobility as well and not passive, in the passive range I have gained more but I haven't been measuring.Ī client of mine with terrible ankle dorsiflexion ie can't sit in the bottom of a squat with their heels down has been doing this for a week (3x a day, everyday only that movement) has already doubled their closeness to the floor. These were all problem areas for me and I have focused my mobility training on them in the last two weeks since I have taken the course and become certified. In two weeks I have gained 15-20 degrees of internal rotation on my hips, 15 degrees of internal rotation in my shoulders, 20 degrees or more external rotation of the hips, and about 15 degrees in the pike position. In addition FRC makes use of a mobility flow that borrows from yoga, martial arts and other conventions that not only train mobility but are one hell of a workout.įrom my personal experience treating my own mobility issues. It utilizes several different approaches at different progressions of mobility that attain and maintain high-level mobility. Isometrics do not cause an inflammatory response and this is something you can do as part of rehabilitation of an injury providing initial inflammation period is over and a joint is not aberrant.įRC contains valuable progressions that move beyond rehabilitation and normal level functioning. What makes FRC different? It makes use a isometrics in stretching at the end range of a passive stretch (not unlike PNF stretching, but to a greater extent). When we train we are not only training muscles but all connective tissue (ie capsules, ligaments, tendons, nerves etc) something that I think I knew intuitively but didn't consider before. Thinking no longer about biomechanics of movement rather than bioflow took my understanding of physiology to a whole other level. Andreo Spina (creator of the system) is ground breaking. This is a brand-spanking new approach to Mobility and since everybody is talking about Supple Leopard these days I thought I should weigh in on an approach to Mobility that is based in science and is more effective than stretching with bands.įirst of all the approach to the body as approached by Dr. I recently became a certified mobility specialist via Funtional Anatomy Seminars. ![]()
